Cooking Projects for Room Visits

Posted on November 19, 2022December 18, 2022 by Cindy Castillo

Have you ever done a cooking project for one of your residents that receives room visits?  This can be great fun and shake up the routine.  Of course, be mindful of special diets to stay on the safe side.

It is a good idea to keep your recipes and activity simple to promote good reminiscence and conversation. Always check residents diet restrictions before this activity. Try some of the following cooking projects:

•             Butter Bread – sounds simple, but can be rewarding

•             Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches

•             Egg Salad / Tuna Salad / Chicken Salad

•             Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

•             Fruit Smoothies – using a blender

•             Waffles – using a waffle iron

•             Pancakes – using a griddle or electric skillet

•             English Muffin Pizzas – using a toaster oven

•             Slice & Bake Cookies – using a toaster oven

There are hundreds of more recipes to try.  Use your imagination.

Please give us your feedback on your room visit ideas on our Facebook group Activity Helper!
